Bulgarian Development Bank and Macedonian bank for Development Promotion signed an Agreement for Cooperation. According to the Agreement the Macedonian bankers will benefit from the experience of BDB in the utilization of European financial tools – mainly guarantee and credit lines.
The Cooperation Agreement was signed in Sofia by the executive directors of the Macedonian financial institution – Mr. Dragan Martinovski and Mr. Qenan Idziri, and the executive directors of BDB – Mr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Mr. Sasho Tchakalski.
European experts have recommended Bulgarian Development Bank to the Macedonian experts as example of efficient utilization of European financial resources. Bulgarian Development Bank is the first financial institution from the new EU member countries having obtained two guarantee lines from the European Investment Fund and using them during the last six years.
Bulgarian Development Bank will share with the Macedonian partner its know-how regarding the attraction of long-term financial resource from international specialized banks without state guarantee.
Only in year 2009 BDBank has attracted credit and guarantee lines from foreign financial institutions for about BGN 300 M. The Bank institution has long-term agreements with the European Investment Fund, European Investment bank, Council of Europe Development Bank, Japanese Bank for International Cooperation, China Development Bank and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank. All agreements were concluded without state guarantee.
The management of the both banks agreed to joinly finance projects and to stimulate the trade exchange between Bulgarian and Macedonian companies as well.
