Bulgarian banker has been elected for Vice - President of the European Association of Public Bank

One of the most prestigious European banking organizations - The European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) has elected the Executive Director of Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) Mr. Sasho Tchakalski for Vice-President. This has become today in the general assembly of the association in Brussels. The Bulgarian banker will be responsible for the relations of the association with the regulatory authorities in Brussels. His candidature was voted with a full majority of the 35 members of the administrative board of EAPBBDB contracts EUR 20 million credit line from the Council of Europe Development Bank

The Administrative Council of the Council of Europe Development Bank has approved a new credit line in the amount of EUR 20 million to the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB). The purpose is to improve the access to financing of investment projects of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim to create new and to preserve the existing jobs.

Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) received a short-term loan in the amount of EURO 20 mio from HYPO NOE Gruppe Bank, Austria. The contract has been signed by the Executive Directors of the two banks on November 3rd, 2010. The European Guarantee Funds have provided over 70 billion euro guarantees to small and medium enterprises (SME) in 2009. Compared with the previous year, this marks an increase of 58%, the European Mutual Guarantee Association (АЕСМ) reported at its annual forum in Bled, Slovenia. Among the participants in the forum was the daughter company of the Bulgarian Development Bank, the National Guarantee Fund. Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) contracted with KfW credit line at the amount of 25 million Euro. The agreement was signed today by the executive directors of BDB Dimitar Dimitrov and Sasho Tchakalksi and by the Vice President of KfW Dr. Johannes Feist and Senior Project Manager Martie Julia Lehrhaft. This is the second credit line from the German financial institution that Bulgarian Development Bank manages. The loan is provided without state guarantee.
